Verna Delores (Eilola) Lampinen

Pasco, WA — Verna Delores (Eilola) Lampinen of Pasco, WA, was born February 26, 1938 in Hancock, Michigan, to Jacob and Gertrude Eilola. She passed peacefully from this life to eternity on November 12 , 2024 at the age of 86, at the Tri-Cities Retirement Inn, in Pasco, WA where she had resided for the last five years.
Verna grew up in Hancock, MI for the first few years of her childhood, then moved to Astoria, OR for a couple years. The family moved back to Michigan where she attended the Hancock schools, graduating from Hancock High School in 1956.
Verna met the love of her life on October 31, 1956. The joke forever has been, was she tricked or treated? The sweethearts got married on April 20, 1957. She was a housewife, helping on the Lampinen family farm, while becoming a mother to their first four children. Wes was offered a job in New Hampshire, and the family moved in the winter of 1962-1963, Verna being pregnant with number five. The family settled in Ashby, MA, and lived there for twenty years. Verna was a cook and pasty maker during this time.
In 1983, Wes and Verna along with their five youngest children moved to Florida. She held several jobs while living there and went back to school to attain an Associates Degree in Business. She went on to Real Estate school and got her license to sell real estate which she excelled in. From Florida the family moved to South Carolina, and upon retirement Wes and Verna moved back to Florida. In 2013 Wes decided it was time to move home, and the two of them moved back to Michigan. Shortly after celebrating their 60 th Wedding Anniversary, Wes passed on to Glory. Verna moved to Washington to live near two of her daughters, and resided there until her passing. From there she moved to the best place of all, her eternal reward, the golden streets of heaven!
Verna is survived by her children; Cynthia with Clyde Vaillancourt of New Ipswich, NH, Douglas with Connie Lampinen of Lake Worth, FL, Mary Lampinen of Chassell, MI, daughter-in-law Lori Lampinen of Lake Worth, FL, Sue-Ann with Kim Mickelson of Pasco, WA, Steven Lampinen of Okeechobee, FL, John Lampinen of York, ME, James Lampinen of Okeechobee, FL, Sharon with Lance Matson of Pasco, WA, Sisters; Shirley Zimmerman of Houghton, MI, and Paulette with John Gedda of Hancock, MI, and sister-in-law Connie Halonen of Hancock, MI, brother-in-laws Earl Lampinen of Houghton, MI, and William Allread of Terryville, CT. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces that she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Gertrude (Oikarainen) Eilola and step father Arvo Pekkala, husband Wesley Lampinen, son Lawrence Lampinen, daughters Jeanette Lampinen and Karen Aho, and granddaughter Michelle Lampinen, who are there to welcome her home.
Verna was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church, strongly holding to Christ as her Savior all of her days. She is home in heaven with her Lord, rejoicing forevermore, safe in the arms of Jesus!
A celebration of life will be held on November 26, 2024 at the Riverside Apostolic Lutheran Church at 11 a.m., with viewing for one hour prior to the service.
