Huskies earn At-Large bid to NCAA Tournament; face Wildcats in first round

INDIANAPOLIS — The No. 20 nationally-ranked Michigan Tech men’s basketball squad is headed to Springfield, Illinois, for the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. Play begins on Saturday with the No. 3 seed Huskies facing a familiar foe in No. 6 seed, Northern Michigan Wildcats. The opening round will take place on Saturday, March 15 slated for a 4:30 p.m. (EST) tipoff.
Michigan Tech returns to the NCAA Tournament for the 12th time in program history and the first time under the guidance of two-time GLIAC Coach of the Year, Josh Buettner. The regular season GLIAC Champion Huskies are 23-7 with a GLIAC ledger of 17-3 in 2024-25.
Northern Michigan won the GLIAC Tournament Championship to make the big dance and hold a 22-9 record overall with a GLIAC standing of 13-7.
Missouri S&T, the No. 1 seed and host, will play No. 8 Malone, No. 4 Missouri-St. Louis will face No. 5 Ferris State, and No. 2 Lake Superior State will battle against No. 7 Lincoln.
