Two Huskies get honored by CCHA for their efforts at GLI
HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies hockey players Stiven Sardarian and Logan Morrell have been named CCHA Players of the Week. It’s the second time both players have earned the honor this season.
Sardarian, a junior forward, is the CCHA Forward of the Week. He paced all CCHA skaters with three points last week, dishing out three assists, including setting up the overtime-winner in Michigan Tech 4-3 overtime victory over Northern Michigan on Monday. Finishing at plus-2 for the week, he had three shots on goal and two blocks defensively. He ranks ninth in the country with 22 points to lead the CCHA.
Morrell, a freshman forward, is the CCHA Rookie of the Week after he scored the overtime game winner in the GLI Third Place Game. He scored 20 seconds into the extra session to lift the Huskies to a 4-3 victory over Northern Michigan. Morrell is tied for the team lead with eight goals this season which ranks fifth amongst NCAA freshmen.

Michigan Tech is in Palm Springs, California for the Coachella Valley Cactus Cup. The Huskies will open against No. 10 Massachusetts-Lowell on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Holy Cross and Nebraska-Omaha will meet in the second semifinal at Acrisure Arena.
