Lakes girls sink Nimrods 60-17

LAKE LINDEN- The Lake Linden- Hubbell Lakes sailed to a 60-17 win over the Watersmeet Nimrods on Thursday.
It was a mismatch from the start. The Lakes pushed out to a 23-0 lead after one and had the wind behind their backs.
The Nimrods sunk their first basket minutes into the second and just another to make it at 45-4 game at half.
With the 41- point lead, the clock was running for the whole second half.
With the big lead, Lakes coach Jack Kumpula was able to get all his players in which was a good thing.
“It is nice to get the bench in. They did well,” he noted.
Cleo Milkey led the scoring for the Lakes with 24 points. Emily Jokela sunk 13.
Watersmeet’s best quarter was the third where they scored nine points.
“We are a work in progress,” noted Nimrods’ coach Rich Pallin. “The girls are working hard, and that is good to see. I was pleased at times with our ball handling and passing.”
