Jets hockey cools Copper Kings, 6-2

HOUGHTON — Looking for both their 13th win of the season, and for some revenge against the visiting Calumet Copper Kings, the Jeffers Jets hockey team scored three goals in the second period to vault to a 6-2 win at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena.

Benton Rajala led the Jets (13-1 overall) with three goals in the contest.

Three other Jets, Brogan Turner, Brit Heinonen, and Cody Turner, finished with three points on goal and two assists each.

Nathan Londo and Kobe Solomonson both scored goals for the Copper Kings (6-10 overall).

Kasen Helminen made 23 saves on 25 shots to earn the win for the Jets. Copper Kings goaltender Beau Jukuri stopped 39 of 45 shots in the loss.

UP NEXT

The Jets are back in action on Friday at home against Escanaba. The Copper Kings will face Northville on Friday.
