Calumet gymnasts have big weekend
CALUMET — The Calumet Copper Kings varsity gymnastics team hosted the Marquette Sentinels on Saturday.
Calumet’s Nora Keranen and Brooklyn Tatman both had strong performances. The duo claimed the top spots in the all-around competition, with Keranen securing first place and Brooklyn earning second place.
“The Calumet gymnastics program continues to showcase remarkable talent and dedication,” said coach DeeAnna Gariepy. “These athletes exemplify the hard work and determination that define the team’s spirit.”
Their individual success at the meet was more than podium finishes as both athletes earned their fourth qualifying scores in all events, making them eligible to compete in the all-around category at the upcoming regional championships.
The regionals will take place downstate on March 1, where Keranen and Tatman will represent the Copper Kings in their pursuit of further accolades.
