Mullahy named CCHA Goaltender of the Week
HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies hockey team goaltender Derek Mullahy has been named the CCHA Goaltender of the Week the conference announced on Monday. He backstopped the Huskies who took 4-of-6 CCHA points at Bowling Green over the weekend.
Mullahy, a fifth-year transfer from Harvard, had a 0.97 goals-against average and .967 save percentage in the series against the Falcons. He earned his second shutout of the season and the third of his career with 28 saves on Friday. Mullahy then made 31 saves in a 2-2 tie on Saturday. He ranks third in the CCHA with a 1.85 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.
Tech is 7-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the CCHA and hosts St. Thomas this weekend at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena for the final home games of 2024. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. on Friday and 6:07 p.m. on Saturday.
