Meiners and Raabe named Academic All-District
HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies student-athletes Kaycee Meiners and Meg Raabe were named to the 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball Team for their combined performances on the court in and in the classroom. The award recognizes starters or key reserves in their sport that carry a 3.50 or above grade-point average and is selected by College Sports Communicators.
Meiners, a fifth-year middle blocker, was named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention. She ranked fourth in the GLIAC in total blocks (109) and blocks per set (1.04). Meiners, a native of DeForest, Wisconsin played in all 29 matches and tallied 202 kills, averaging 1.92 kills per set. She ranks sixth in program history in career blocks and seventh blocks per set, and ninth in career hitting percentage. Meiners graduated with a bachelor’s in exercise science while holding a 3.83 GPA. She plans to attend physical therapy school.
Raabe, an outside hitter, was honored on the All-GLIAC First Team in 2024. The junior appeared in all 29 matches and 106 sets, tallying 390 kills and averaging 3.68 kills per set to rank fourth in the GLIAC. The Omaha, Nebraska native hit .260 while also adding 112 digs, 38 blocks, 12 assists, and five aces. Raabe ranks sixth in kills per set in program history and 13th in career kills while holding a 3.97 GPA in accounting.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
