Lenz named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week
HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies women’s basketball senior guard Isabella Lenz has been named the Week Four GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This is Lenz’s first honor this season.
Lenz helped the Huskies conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule with a home weekend split, falling to No. 21 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday (63-60) before overcoming a 19-point first-half deficit in the win over Winona State (71-66) Sunday.
The Prescott, Wisconsin, native averaged a team-leading 35.5 minutes, scoring 23 points with 10 rebounds, five assists, five blocks, and two steals. She recorded a career-high three blocks in Sunday’s win against Winona State, adding 12 points, seven rebounds and a steal.
She currently ranks tied for first in the GLIAC with 12 blocks this season.

Michigan Tech remains home and will open GLIAC play next week, welcoming Wisconsin-Parkside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before a Saturday matinee versus Purdue Northwest at noon.
