Huskies add goaltender Ryan Manzella to roster

HOUGHTON — The Michigan Tech Huskies hockey team has added goaltender Ryan Manzella to its active hockey roster ahead of the annual Great Lakes Invitational. Manzella joins the Huskies after 11 games this season with Sioux Falls in the USHL.

Manzella is a 6-foot, 174-pound native of Eagan, Minnesota. He held a 2.40 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in 11 games with the Stampede this season going 7-2-1. He appeared in 34 games for the St. Cloud Norsemen in the NAHL in 2023-24, holding a 2.62 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. Manzella played the 2022-23 season in the AJHL for Bonnyville and Sherwood Park. He played four seasons for the Sioux Falls Power before his junior career.

The 58th annual GLI is Dec. 29-30 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. The Huskies open against No. 6 Western Michigan in the first semifinal at 3:37 p.m. on Sunday. No. 1 Michigan State and Northern Michigan will play in the second semifinal at 7:07 p.m.
