Emily Jokela signs to compete for Grand Valley State in track and field. Jokela is a multi-sport athlete who has participated in basketball, softball and track at Lake Linden-Hubbell. As a sprinter, she’s dominated the U.P. Division III 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes, and the 300-meter hurdles, including wins in the 100, 400 and hurdles at the U.P. Championships last spring leading the Lakes to back-to-back team titles. She was last year’s Copper Mountain Conference Most Valuable Track Athlete. Jokela is also the Lakes’ all-time basketball career scoring leader with 1,438 points and she was recognized CMC league MVP and Associated Press First team all state. She is the daughter of Lori and John Jokela, who are also pictured.
