Marquette woman arrested for MSHS embezzlement
MARQUETTE — Investigation concerning embezzlement at Marquette Senior High School has concluded in an arrest.
On Jan. 19, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of 44-year-old Stacey L. Kangas for embezzlement — $100,000 or more. The charge is a felony and is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a $50,000 or three times the amount embezzled.
Allegedly, the initial embezzlement incident occurred in the MSHS Central Administration Office on Dec. 19, while she was employed in the athletic department.
