Blue Bolts boys earn win
ONTONAGON — The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts boys basketball team added another win to their quiver with a 59-43 victory over the Ontonagon Gladiators on Tuesday.
The Blue Bolts pushed out to a 17-5 lead after one and never looked back. They added another 19 points in the second and were up 36-11 at half.
“We really struggled the first half with turnovers, which led to easy buckets for them,” said Ontonagon coach Brittany Turin-Jilbert. “I was happy with how we turned it around the second half with a big intensity swing, but again the deficit was too big to overcome.”
According to Turin-Jilbert, a slow start is nothing new for her boys.
“We’ve got to start a game right away and not after we get ourselves in a deficit though which is one of our biggest struggles right now.”
