BARAGA — The Ontonagon girls dominated Wednesday’s MHSAA Division 3 track and field regional at Baraga.

They finished with 57 points, which was 25 points better than runner-up Baraga. Lake Linden-Hubbell placed third with 30, Chassell was fourth, Ewen-Trout Creek fifth, Bessemer sixth, Wakefield-Mareniso and Dollar Bay seventh.

The Gladiators’ Makennah Uotila won the 400 dash, 800 run and long jump. Teammate Senia Kolpack finished first in the 100 and 200 dashes.

Dollar Bay won the boys event 42-36 over Lake Linden-Hubbell. The Blue Bolts’ Connor LeClaire swept the hurdle races, Kolson Kytta of Chassell was first in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs and Baraga’s Christian Brown won the shot put and discus.

The four individual finishers and the two relay teams qualify for the U.P. Finals, which are scheduled for June 5 at Kingsford.
