To the Editor:
We are grateful for AJʼs joining the Planning Commission and for the experience and expertise she brings. We have witnessed and spoken at multiple meetings over the last couple of years. We observe the commission as ignorant of protocol coupled with arrogance and incompetence. Meetings flounder aimlessly when
uncertainty or dissention is encountered. AJ steps up by explaining regulations, procedural requirements and actions needed to proceed in a compliant manner. However, the commission views her expertise as a threat. Instead of seeking clarification and help when they are on the wrong track, they react with contempt for being reminded of the standards in their own regulation. The commission should be grateful to have AJ on board and should embrace her experience to help them become effective. Change in leadership, membership, humility, integrity, and expertise is needed but starts by embracing AJ, not removing her out of spite.
