Mental Health Fair was a big success
To the Editor:
The “Be Kind to Your Mind Youth Mental Health Fair” was a big success! On Saturday, February 22, local teens came to the Little Gem Community Center in Lake Linden and engaged in fun activities while learning how to manage anxiety and other moods, how to promote mental wellness, and to hear stories from people in recovery.
We would like to thank our generous sponsors for supporting this annual event: Portage Health Auxiliary, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, Thrivent Action Teams, Impaled Tattoos & Piercing, and some anonymous donors.
Jim’s Pizza, Ramona’s Bakery, and Louie’s Fresh Market provided excellent food. Many volunteers donated their time and expertise. Every teen was able to take home a door prize from the many businesses who donated gift cards and gift bags: Amora Wellness & Gifts, Baskin Robbins, The Copper Poppy, Copper World, Culver’s, Dunkin, Fifth & Elm, Gino’s, Ilo Art Store, Impaled Tattoos & Piercing, KC Bonkers, Lindell’s, Magic Kiln, Maurice’s, McDonald’s, Mineshaft, Respawn Laser Tag, Subway, Sundae in the Park, Sunflower Books & Coffee, Swift’s Hardware, UP North Custom Apparel, UR Coffee, and Walmart.
Shop at all of these businesses and thank them for supporting our youth!
Sincerely,
Michelle Morgan
