Gerald Nordstrom

Gerald C. (Nordie) Nordstrom, 76, a former resident of Allouez, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at Canal View – Houghton County, where he had been a resident patient for the past several years.
Nordie was born on Jan. 13, 1949, a son of Gerald and Nancy (Tervo) Nordstrom. He attended local schools and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp upon graduation.
Nordie worked in the White Pine Mines, Defiance Company, Cuda Corporation and retired from Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. He married Donna Laurie on Dec. 29, 1972. He enjoyed woodworking and was a very proud Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeremy, wife Donna and many other beloved family members.
Nordie is survived by daughters, Wendy (Tim) Wiinamaki and Michelle (Bob) Salata; grandchildren, Spencer and Shelby Wiinamaki, and Trevor, Autumn and Carter Salata; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Per Nordie’s request, no service or visitation will be held.
Nordie’s family would like to thank the staff on the third floor of Canal View for their years of compassionate care and special attention given to dad during his stay there.
