E. Christina Wilbur

HANCOCK CANAL — E. Christina Wilbur, 86, a resident of the Hancock Canal, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Aspirus – Keweenaw Hospital.
She was born on June 10, 1938, in Aruba, a daughter of the late Karl and Marianne (Talen) Hoglund. Stina resided in Aruba until attending Russell Sage College in Tory, New York.
She moved to Southport, North Carolina, in 1960. In 1964, she moved to San Francisco and began a career working for Wells Fargo retiring from the International Division after 33 years of service to the bank.
In 1966, she was united in Aaron Wilbur, and in 2001, the couple moved to make their home on the Hancock Canal.
Christina was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Calumet, she enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents.
Surviving are: her siblings, Karin Hoglund of Hayden, Colorado, and Anders (Mary) Hoglund of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; her Havanese, Pablo; three nieces and nephews; her local family, William Koski, Jon Koski, May Lepisto, William (Nancy) Lepisto Jr. and Gina Lepisto; her special friends, Theresa Cherubini and Joe Masini; along with many other close friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial for Christina will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Calumet with Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil, MCBS to celebrate. Spring burial will be in the Waasa Cemetery.
