Shirley Amanda (Lidey) Teddy

July 4, 1932 - March 15, 2025

ISHPEMING — Shirley Amanda (Lidey) Teddy, age 92, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Marquette County Medical Care facility, surrounded by her family and in the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.

Shirley was born in Allouez, on July 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Ernest and Senia (Kahkonen) Lidey. She married her husband, Herbert, on Aug. 18, 1951, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church, Calumet. Together they raised four children.

Shirley was a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She was the Uniserv Director for the MEA (Michigan Education Association) until her retirement. She was owner and operator of Teddy’s Central Florist in Negaunee and Ishpeming.

Shirley leaves behind her four children, Mary (Bruce) Jacobson of Ishpeming, Jean (Ray) Jandron of Negaunee, David (Mary Kay Milquet) Teddy of Wrightstown, Wisconsin, and Rodd Teddy of Negaunee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and great grandchild (Camilla Jacobson).

Shirley was blessed with nine grandchildren: Michele (Mike) O’Donnell of Rosholt, Wisconsin, Brett (Jen Bagwell) Jacobson of Gwinn, Casie Lucas of Ishpeming, Ty (Veronica) Jacobson of Stillwater, Minnesota, Jade (Jeff Rule) of Ishpeming, Amanda Jandron of Negaunee, Raena (Nick) Melser of Shakopee, Minnesota, Ramon Jandron of Williamston, Michigan, and Aaron Teddy of Camden, North Carolina; 24 great grandchildren: Mike (Megin), Megan, Brianna, Amelia, Keegan of Rosholt, Leif and Hannah Jacobson of Clifton Springs, New York, Dane Jacobson of Ishpeming, Krystene (Alex)Hamilton of Sequim, Washington, Samantha and Caleb Lucas of Ishpeming, Oliver, Gabriel, Gemma, Helena, Lousia, Camilla (deceased), Delia, Agatha, Roch, Ignatius, Ursula, Eulalia, and Tabitha Jacobson of Stillwater; 11 great great grandchildren: Mike, Gordon, Brenden and Atticus O’Donnell of Plover, Wisconsin, Elaina O’Donnell of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Julian O’Donnell of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Rayne O’Donnell of Medford, Wisconsin, Addison Jacobson of Clifton Springs, Asher and Calliope Hamilton of Sequim, and Camden Teddy of North Carolina; along with several nieces and nephews.

At Shirley’s request, there will be a private service for family members.
