Linda Sophie Stubenrauch

Linda Sophie Stubenrauch, of Ahmeek, passed away on Feb. 28, 2025, at Canal View in Hancock. Linda was born on Oct. 24, 1937, in Big Betsy, Michigan, to William and Hilda (Kaikkonen) Jarve.
Linda graduated from Calumet High School in 1955. After graduation, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and worked as a secretary. She returned home to Big Betsy to help care for her mother. She met Frank Stubenrauch at a dance at the Gay Hall and they were married on March 16, 1963.
Linda loved to travel, bake, listen to country and Christian music, go out to eat, attend church and visit with friends and family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Laurium and before it closed, National Lutheran Church where Linda sang in the choir for many years. She had also taught Sunday school there in her younger years. She worked for Community Action cleaning the homes of the elderly and volunteered for the Keweenaw Historical Society with Frank after he retired from Logging.
Linda had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was always there for her family and friends when needed. Linda loved to have people over to visit and was a great hostess. Her recipes for sloppy joes, ramen noodle salad and chocolate chip cookies were shared numerous times with relatives, friends, and extended family.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank and her brothers Leo, Richard, Leonard, Alex, Andy and Paul, and sisters Gertie, Helen, and Ida.
Linda is survived by her sons Robert (Tammy), of Ahmeek, and Steven (Linda), of Laurium; daughter Terry (Dan) Dube, of Allouez; grandsons Eric (April) Dube, of Hubbell; Darren (Shelby) Stubenrauch, of Ahmeek Location, Alex Stubenrauch, of Ahmeek, Dylan (Ally Miller) Stubenrauch, of Mifflin Town, Pennsylvania, Ryan Dube, of Hubbell, Alex (Katie) Johnson, of Tamarack, Anessa (Jimmy) Ricklefs, of Muskegon; and granddaughters Connie (Kevin) Graves, of Shingleton, and Corrine (Daniel Atkinson) Stubenrauch, of Marquette; sister-in-law Jean (Bill) Eckloff, of Ontonagon; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A service for Linda Stubenrauch will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful and amazing staff at Canal View for all their kindness and excellent care they provided to Linda. They are proof that angels really do exist on earth. And a big thank you also to Aspirus Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and care in making sure Linda was comfortable during her final days.
