Stanley Rudolph Pelto

CALUMET — Stanley Rudolph Pelto, age 72, a resident of Calumet, passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay Wisconsin with his family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1952, in Osceola, a son of Rudolph A. Pelto and Hymini (Katie) Pelto-Dendros. Attended Osceola school and later Calumet High School where he excelled in track. Stanley served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years as a helicopter mechanic as well as four years in the National Guard. After his time in the Marine Corps, he did cross country trucking, roofing and worked in the laborer’s union. During his time in the Marine Corps, he became equivalent to a master in tai chi in six years taught by a Chinese American Marine. He held a physical fitness record in the Marine Corps for some time. He did a seminar at Finlandia university where he demonstrated over 40 different ways to perform a pushup. In his youth he was an avid hunter and fisherman, always enjoyed doing physical activities which allowed him to walk up and down flights of stairs on his hands. He enjoyed his Kesslers, cutting wood with his friends Clyde, the Indian and Homer, and 4th of July canoe trips with family and friends. A loving soul always loved everyone no matter what and was always willing to help anyone in need without ever wanting anything in return.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Stanley Rudolph Pelto II 51 (Kathy Pelto) of Hancock, Christopher Stanley Pelto 26 (Brianna Korpinen) of Boston Location, and Samuel Rudolph Pelto 24 (Jennie Lacasse) of Copper City. One daughter, Mara Marie Pelto 22 of Jackson, Michigan. Nine grandchildren, Shane Elliot Marino 29, Cole Nicholas Marino 24, Megan Jolie Pelto 18, Kaylynn Joy Pelto 17, Tia Noelle Pelto 15, Gage Nolan Pelto 9, Zephaniah Stanley Pelto 6, Owen Kevin-Mark Mills 8, and Samuel Rudolph Pelto II. 3 siblings, Lisa Pelto-Riutta of Calumet, Mike Pelto (Brenda Pelto) of Hancock, and Pamela Cardinal of Grafton, Wisconsin.

Several loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Rudolph A. Pelto 79 and Hymini (Katie) Pelto-Denrose 65, and granddaughter Amelia Francis Pelto 2.

A memorial service will be held in Stanley’s honor on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at the Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home from 1 – 4 p.m. Celebration of life will be posted at a later date.
