David Kenneth Moyle

April 11, 1961 - Nov. 22, 2024

David Kenneth Moyle left us unexpectedly on November 22, 2024, leaving us with broken hearts and priceless memories. David was born on April 11, 1961 to Donald and Ethel Moyle in Laurium, Michigan, and a very full life was to comeÃ-

Dave graduated from Calumet High School in 1979. He moved to Ishpeming, then Arizona, before moving back to Michigan to reside in Bootjack, where he and Amy built a house, and proudly made it a home in 2004.

He did everything he loved: he worked hard, traveled often, loved live music, boating, motorcycles, snowmobiles, golfing, being in nature, and hockey, which he played as soon as he was big enough to skate, and watched the Red Wings at every opportunity. Dave loved to take photos of adventures and everyday life.

David was very well known and active in the community; he was a member of the Bootjack Fire Department for 20 years and a member of the Keweenaw ATV Club. David had a long career pouring concrete, and was fondly known as “Cement Dude.” He worked for the Houghton County Road Commission until having to retire a few years ago, due to his complicated health journey, which proved him to be an absolute miracle.

Preceding him in death was his father, Donald. David is survived by his beloved wife, partner, and love of his life, Amy Machiela, mother Ethel Moyle, sister Sue (Jon) Cadwell, sister Patti Vickers, in laws Keith and Donna Machiela, sister-in-law Kristin Machiela, and her children Ethan, Awbrey, and Jared, sister-in-law Janelle (Jason) Lund and their boys Caleb, Wesley, and Owen, brother-in-law Jared (Sarah) Machiela and their children Vinny, Delilah, Violet, and Flora, niece Kaylee (Morgan), Kelsey (Bill), Kaitlyn, great nephews Barrett and Cedar, and great nieces Callie and Reid, many close cousins, countless friends

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests monetary donations that can be put toward their wishes.

Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home will host a visitation on Sunday, December 1 from 12 to 2 p.m. Following the visitation, the Bootjack Fire Hall will host a celebration of life to honor David and his loved ones starting at 3 p.m.

There is much more to the life of Dave Moyle not mentioned here, and those who knew him, will continue to love him forever. Very few people in this world touch hearts like David, and we will be forever grateful for his 63 years here with us.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
