James Madajewski
Born January 3, 1941.
Graduated from Calumet High School – class of 1958.
Married Sandra Satterley at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hubbell by Pastor Frank Schultz on January 18, 1964. Celebrated 60 years in January 2024. They have three sons – James Andrew, John Thomas and Scott Francis, all of Calumet.
After graduation Jim joined the Navy for three years. He then worked at Goodman Lumber Company in Mohawk until it closed. He then worked at Horner Flooring in Dollar Bay, retiring in 2003.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing both fast pitch and slo-pitch baseball for many years. After retiring he dog-sat for his granddog Bruno for 14 years. They liked partridge hunting.
Jim was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Laurium.
He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers John and Andrew as infants, brother Martin, Sister-in-laws Margaret Madajewski, Fay Madajewski, Joan Satterley, Barbara Donovan, Gloria Dewey and Sharon Dewey. Nieces Susan (Madajewski) Nauert, Melinda Donovan, brother-in-law Delmar (Buddy) Walters, great niece Ashley Donovan, great nephew Jeremy Dooley and great great nephew Rylan Gibson.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandra, his three sons Jimmy, John and Scott, his sister Patricia Walters, cousins Rudy Schmitt, Frank (Chico) Karvola, and Phyllis (Gunnard) Weijola, nieces Joan (Larry) Kotila, Lisa (David) DePelsmaeker, Michelle (Jeff) Hansen, and nephews Jerry Donovan, Ryan (Lisa) Donovan, Russell Madajewski, Steven (Jenny) Dewey and David (Cathy) Dewey.
A service for James Madajewski will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Laurium, Michigan at 11 a.m. on Tuesday October 8, 2024. A visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Laurium, Michigan. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery at 1 p.m.
