Vivian Eakin
Our beloved mother, Vivian Elvera Eakin (maiden name Linna) passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023 at the age of 94 to be with her Heavenly Father. Vivian was born to the late Victor Linna and Elvera Linna (maiden name Keso) on July 28, 1929 in Painesdale, Michigan. Vivian was preceded in death byher beloved husband, John Eakin. She and John were married on July 3, 1945 in Houghton, Michigan. They moved to southern Michigan a few years later where they raised their four children.
Vivian is survived and dearly missed by her two sons Dennis (wife Kandace) and Keith (wife Karen); and her two daughters, Sheral Stedman (husband Ralph) and Wendy Romund (husband Karl). She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Vivian was also preceded in death by her sisters; Helmi Linna who died at a very young age, Esther Briggs (Husband Edwin), Helen Mattson (Husband Ernie), and her brother Eddie Linna (Wife Corrine).
Mom also had loving relationships with Dad’s Mother and Pop, as well as the many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Mom and Dad participated equally along side each other in very importantways. Mom supported Dad in his construction business by handling the bookwork. Additionally, she and Dad were both very supportive of family members in times of need. They occasionally took siblings into their home as Dad taught them the construction business. They also worked together to build some of their children family homes in the Michigan area.
The Eakin children would like to thank Wendy Romund for her exceptional loving care for Mom, and Dad as well, at an assisted living facility near her home in Florida. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made to the Alzheimer Society in honor of John and Vivian Eakin.
