BARAGA — A person died after a medical emergency at the Baraga County Jail earlier this week, the Baraga County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The person suffered the emergency on Monday morning, Undersheriff Dave Miller said. Rescue measures were put into place and the person was taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital, where they later died, Miller said.

Miller said additional details, including the person’s name, are being withheld until the investigation is complete.
