New provider at UGL – Hancock
HANCOCK – Ashley Chamberlain, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), has joined the team of women’s health providers at Upper Great Lakes Hancock Family Health Center (UGL).
Ashley grew up in Oxford, MI, and then relocated to Sault Ste. Marie where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Lake Superior State University. She then received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Frontier Nursing University. Ashley’s husband, Jesse, is in the Coast Guard which brought them to the Upper Peninsula.
Being a CNM allows Ashley the opportunity to build relationships, empower women, and provide individualized care. She has special interests in gynecology, prenatal care, labor support, birth, and breastfeeding promotion. Ashley said, “My favorite thing about being a midwife is attending births. I feel honored that I get to be present for such a special moment in a woman’s life.” There is a Norwegian Proverb that sums up her feelings precisely, “The greatest joy is to become a mother; the second greatest is to be a midwife.”
Ashley and her family enjoy the different seasons in the U.P., especially summer and fall, and love to be outdoors swimming, hiking, camping, and having bonfires. Ashley is grateful to be joining UGL and looks forward to serving women in the Copper Country.
UGL’s Hancock Family Health Center – OB/GYN is located at 500 Campus Drive, Suite 3, Hancock, MI. To schedule an appointment with Ashley Chamberlain, CNM, please call 906-483-1050.
