Richard C. “Bieks” Biekkola

NEW LONDON, Wis. - Richard C. Biekkola, 61, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, following complications after surgery.

Ric was born on January 20, 1952, in Milwaukee, son of the late George and Margie (Allen) Biekkola. He graduated from Calumet High School in Calumet in 1970. He was in the ROTC, and attended Suomi University and Lake Superior State College. Ric loved to golf, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed throwing darts and fantasy football. He was a huge Packer fan, University of Michigan "Go blue" and the Chicago Cubs. He managed numerous bars/restaurants in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Ric is survived by his children, Michelle (Dan) Freeman, Aimee (Henry) Dunbar, Greg (Leah) Stelse and Tony Stelse, all of New London; five sisters, Susie (Tom) "Suds" Laurie of Ahmeek, Mary Beth (Sal) Biekkola, Jill (Dave) Ritchie, Peggy Biekkola and Nancy (Kevin) Wegner, all of New London. He is further survived by nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ric were held on Monday, January, 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, Wis.

Burial will be in the Calgary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
