Jeffers beaten by Plymouth

January 13, 2014
The Daily Mining Gazette

SAULT STE. MARIE - An early lead didn't hold up for the Jeffers hockey team Saturday, as the Jets fell 5-2 to Plymouth and went 0-3 in the Lynn Auto Parts Showcase.

Jeffers (10-5) went into the first intermission ahead 2-0 after an unassisted goal by Brady Guilbault 10:40 into the game and a Nick Trezona tally with 1:39 to play.

The lead went away in the second period, as Plymouth scored twice to tie it up. The Wildcats then took over in the third, going ahead just nine seconds into the period and scoring two more insurance goals later.

Dax Durocher made 42 saves for Jeffers, which was outshot 47-20.

The Jets return to action tonight at Negaunee.
