To the editor:
In his recent letter, Larry Korpi attempts to spread the same fear mongering lies that ACA opponents have been spreading for years, and I feel compelled to respond. If one simply spends 5 minutes with Google, they can debunk every single claim made in his letter on their own. Every claim that he falsely makes ties back to a chain letter that has been floating around in one form or another since 2009 and references HR3200 which was never actually passed into law. This letter has been debunked by PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, and others. Mr. Korpi has simply cut and pasted the list from something that he was sent, plagiarizing whomever is the original author. Let's take a look at just one of the items on his list for a direct comparison, Item 3.
Mr. Korpi's letter reads: "3 - The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally (page 50/ section 152.)"
Snopes.com features a page debunking a letter that claims to be written by the "Honorable David Kithil Marble Falls, Texas" which reads: "Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally."
Notice the similarities.
Mr. Korpi ends his letter with another set of lies regarding the exemptions from the law. The amendment made by Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley (the Grassley Amendment) stripped Congress and congressional aides of their employer provided health care (something not done to any other employees in the country) and forced them into the health care exchanges.

Larry Korpi should be ashamed of himself for submitting the letter as though he had written it.
The DMG should be ashamed of itself for publishing such a sack of lies without so much as a cursory glance for factual accuracy.
