November 18, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

Many thanks to our faithful blood donors and local businesses who helped to make our Halloween Blood Drive a success. We appreciate you support and concern for others in our community.

72 pints of blood were donated during our 2-week promotion.

These donations support 14 local hospitals throughout the U.P., including Portage Health, Aspirus/Keweenaw and Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

We acknowledge and thank the following businesses who contributed gifts and gift certificates for the drawing for our donors: Toni's Country Kitchen, Keweenaw Co-op, Slim's Cafe, The Apothecary, Gartner's Gallery, Northland Veterinary Clinic, Kangas Cafe and Catering, Cross Country Sports, Gino's Restaurant, PHS Lab, By Nature, Einerli, Superior Monogramming, Dave's BP, Pat's Foods, Walmart, Superior Lube, Loading Zone, Family Dollar - Hancock, Applebee's, 5th and Elm Coffee House, Amy J's Pasty and Bake Shop, and Northwoods Trading Post.

Thank you for the gif of life.
