Weather causes mishap

Houghton police officers respond to a two-vehicle accident at the corner of M-26 and Sharon Avenue Tuesday afternoon. At about 1 p.m., a driver crossing M-26 on Sharon lost control of his vehicle due to weather conditions and defective equipment, hitting a car waiting to make a left turn onto M-26. The accident resulted in minor injuries, though no hospital visits were required. It remains under investigation. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, Houghton Fire Department, Michigan Technological University Public Safety and Mercy EMS assisted in the incident.
