CHASSELL - Hilde Stipech, 85, a resident of Broemer Road, Chassell, passed away on May 6, 2013, with family by her side.

She was born April 12, 1928, in Vienna, Austria to Isadore and Hildegard Benischek.

After attending business school for two years in Vienna, she worked for the United States military police as a teletypist during the occupation of Vienna after WWII.

She married Edward F. Stipech in 1947 and for the next 16 years was stationed at various military posts, both in Europe and the United States with her husband and children. In 1963, she moved to Chassell and has resided there till her demise.

Beginning in 1966, she worked for Michigan Technological University until 1988 when she retired after 22 years. Hilde did volunteer work at Dial Help and was a member of St. Ignatius.

She loved to garden, read and crochet afghans and to make "scrubbies" and dish towels for family and friends. Her bread dumplings, sauerkraut and pot roast will be sorely missed by her family and friends along with her famous schnitzel.

Most important to Hilde were her family and friends. Her parents and brother, Rudi preceded her in death.
