Red side wins tight All-Star game

CHASSELL?- The Red Team came out on top in eight innings Friday in the Copper Country Women's Fastpitch League All-Star Game, as Brianne Maggio drew a bases-loaded walk-off walk in a 1-0 victory over Blue.

Liz Richards (Blue) and Laura Ruohonen (Red)?dueled in the pitching circle. Richards allowed three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in six innings, while Ruohonen allowed just one hit and struck out nine with two walks.

Red had two on with two out in the seventh before Blue catcher Brittni Kisul threw out Kelly Poelstra to end the inning.

The event was a fundraiser for league operations.
