DT2 softball rolls

HURONTOWN - A 10-run second inning was more than enough for Downtowner 2 in a 19-4 Copper Country slowpitch softball win over Pat's Foods.

The winners got three hits from Scott Hall and Dave Usitalo, while Pete Pelissero, Tim Korby, Erik Nettell, Mike Bellmore and Ryan Makela had two apiece.

Max LeSatz had two doubles in defeat, while Logan Rastello had a single and a double.

American Legion Post 90 scored in seven of the nine innings and rapped out 31 hits in a 25-14 win over Osmose/Erickson-Crowley-Peterson.

Kevin LaRoux, Jason Wilks, Joe Rivest and Dennis Dobes had five hits apiece for Post 90, while Travis McMillan and Jerry Wilks added three.

Steve Aho and Josh Frantti homered for McGann's/Northern Auto, which cruised to a 20-5 win over Miller's Lanes/The Edge/906 Enterprises.

Frantti and Russ Koski had three hits apiece for the winners.

Team 7 rolled to a 35-15 win over Rippa Products. No stats were submitted for the winners, but Ben Loukus was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles for Rippa. Jake Loukus and Stewart Krumm had two singles and a double apiece.
