To the editor:
Your recent column titled "The Big Con" by Bill O'Reilly was a shameful con in itself.
His statement that Head Start children are equally academically disadvantaged with those not receiving early childhood education by third grade is misleading.
While this is true when skewed by poverty stricken families and poor schools in these areas, the study also discovered that by middle school, Head Start children excel in critical thinking, abstract comprehension and creative thought processes.
I would assume this fact was deliberately left out by Mr. Reilly because those who think freely and have the intelligence to research and form their own opinions and ideas are a threat to him and his FAUX Noise affiliates.
Head Start works. As a former Head Start parent, I speak from experience and observation. Independent voter.
