HOUGHTON - A pair of Kingsford goals 40 seconds apart started a bad patch Jeffers couldn't get out of in time Saturday, as the Flivvers took the 4-2 victory.
Reid Pietila and Matt Willman scored at 1:25 and 2:05, respectively, of the second period.
"We came out slow Friday night (against Negaunee) and we did the same Saturday. The third period was ours, we took it to them, but we started taking it too them too late. We ran out of time at that point," Jeffers coach David Bekkala said.

The Flivvers tacked on a third goal midway through the period by Ted Pietila and increased their lead to four early in the third before the Jets pulled two goals back. Nick Harris and Tylor Rickard scored 3:26 apart, but the Jets (12-8) got no closer.
Dax Durocher made 31 saves in the losing effort.
The Jets play Tuesday against L'Anse at MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
