Sad, desperate thief

December 12, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

How bad has it gotten?

Many people walk up and down the Mayflower Road in Traprock. It is a good workout and oftentimes we overdress and have to take off the jacket, gloves or hat before reaching the top. We may carry them with us or hang them on a tree to pick up later.

Recently, a senior resident walked up the Mayflower Road and did this same thing with his jacket and choppers. Unfortunately, when he came back down, about 30 minutes later, someone had taken his articles off the tree.

The jacket had been his dad's and has sentimental value and my wife had made him wool liners for the choppers last Christmas.

I feel this person had to see him walking but decided to steal the clothing anyway, how sad and desperate, just to get something for nothing.

If anyone has any information on this or saw anything on Nov. 16, please call me at 337-1455. There is a small reward and a big thank you. Or put in large mailbox at bottom of Mayflower Road.
