ISHPEMING - The Houghton swim team won all but one event in its first dual meet of the season, a win over Westwood Tuesday.
The final score of the girls' competition was 122-60 Gremlins, while the boys won 110-70.
"With such a different team from last year, I really don't quite know what to expect at this point, but I am pleased with the effort and willingness to make necessary stroke adjustments at this point," Houghton coach Roger Woods said.
Drew Meyer edged teammate Armando Moyyad, with both going under a minute for the first time, to win the 100 fly and added the 100 back for a double.
Daniel Shonnard (100 free, 100 breast) and James DeClerck (200 free, 500 free) won pairs of events for Houghton, while all three double winners also took part in a first-place relay.
Among the girls, Jill Toorongian won the 100 free in 1 minute, 1.38 seconds and anchored three winning relays.
Rebecca Jaszczak (50 free, 100 back) and Annika Wheeler (200 individual medley, 100 fly) won a pair of individual events apiece.
Houghton has its first home meet next Tuesday against Hancock.
