HURONTOWN - Kraig V. Koski, 51, of Hurontown, passed away unexpectedly at home of an apparent heart attack on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012.
He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., to Kenneth Koski and Betty Terrian. He attended Calumet, Houghton and Hancock schools.
Kraig married the love of his life, the former Barbara Aho, on July 11, 1981, in Hancock and they had made their home in Hurontown for 30 years.
In younger years, Kraig played hockey in the Copper Country Junior Hockey League and for Hancock High School during 1978-80.
He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his feline family (Miss Kitty, Ginger, Cheetah and Bitsy). He also enjoyed gardening, watching the Boston Bruins and Green Bay Packers, camping and attending the country music festival in Rhinelander, Wis., for many years.
Kraig was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, on Feb. 13, 1996; a brother, Kurt, on Nov. 27, 1994; and a granddaughter, Laysen Juntunen on March 14, 2010.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Barb of Hurontown; two sons, Kyle (Stephanie Juntunen) of Houghton and Corey of Baltic; four grandchildren, Natalie Dowler, Lenae Juntunen, Lannis Juntunen and Kayden Koski; his mother, Betty Terrian of Houghton; two brothers, Keith (Julie) Koski of Hancock and Kevin (Anna) Koski of Houghton; a sister, Karen Hannon of Hancock; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, in the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range with Pastor Sally Wilke of Grace Lutheran Church to officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Monday in the mortuary.
