Business thanks patrons

November 27, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

Keweenaw Keepsakes in Laurium will be closing its doors Dec. 8.

The store opened in 1994 in the drug store part of the old bank building after major remodeling. The business features handicrafts, antiques and unusual gifts accepting antiques and crafts on consignment from local residents.

Because of the economy, the store is forced to close. Our thanks go out to our local residents and friends who supported us.

Along with the local residents, many out-of-town visitors have stopped by the shop to find out about Laurium and families in years gone by.

Our hope is that Laurium will continue to be a special place to live.

Our dream is that some day Laurium would have a Welcome and History center and be a great place for visitors.
