TAPIOLA - Pitching dominated in Over 50 Softball League play Thursday night.
League-leading South Range scored a 4-2 win over Houghton behind the seven-hit hurlling of Joe Rossi.
Losing chucker Steve Dunstan gave up just 10 hits - two each by Brien Ricci and Glenn Mitchell.
Range is 6-1 on the season, while Houghton dropped to 2-5.
In the other game, Tapiola used three hits apiece by Tom Clisch and Pete Oikarinen to back the eight-hit pitching of Jed Denomie in a 9-3 victory over Chassell.
Jim Oikarinen added two hits for the 3-4 winners, who tallied four runs in the fourth and sixth frames.
Mitch Lake was the losing pitcher, yielding 11 safeties.
Chassell was led by three hits from Nick Lindemann and two raps each by Daryl Putala and John Botto.
