CHICAGO, Ill. - Joseph Frederick (Fred) DuLong passed away June 20, 2012.
He was the loving husband of Helen Marie, nee Kalodimos; world's greatest father to Nancy (Norm) Gassman, Joey (Janet) DuLong, Cathy (Scott) Dilny and Eddie DuLong; fun and creative grandpa to Gus Nordgren, Steve, Kevin, Peter, Danny and Johnny 5 Dilny and Danielle DuLong; and was the sweet and gentle great-grandfather to Johnathan, Macie and Mackenzie Nordgren.
He was born in Hubbell on Jan. 23, 1933, to Catherine and Joseph DuLong.
Fred served in the Korean War as a mechanic.
He married Helen Marie (Kalodimos) in 1956.
Fred cherished his log cabin, his tractors and the serenity of his 40 acres in the U.P. He enjoyed seeing his wife, children and grandchildren experiencing the country life that was so important to him.
Funeral services were held in Chicago.
