Pride goeth before the fall.
This famous proverb rings true in Egypt today, but it has been President Hosni Mubarak's pride that has caused at least 100 Egyptian citizens to fall, never to rise again. The injury toll is now in the thousands, with no end to the chaos in sight.
Mubarak may have agreed to not seek re-election in September, but at this rate, there might not be a country to govern six months from now. When his citizenry calls for his resignation, firing the government around him likely only incited the masses more. The only way to quell the chaos is for Mubarak to immediately resign his post, and perhaps even leave the country.
With the whole nation in meltdown mode, a fresh start is needed in Egypt. The only way that will occur is if Mubarak lays down his foolish pride for the country he supposedly loves so much, and let the wounds he has inflicted heal.
