HOUGHTON - Margaret M. Bice, 101, a former resident of Houghton, passed away Friday afternoon, October 30, 2009, at Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock.

She was born on October 6, 1908, in Houghton, a daughter of the late Peter and Susan (Schaaf) Manderfield. Margaret was a graduate of Houghton High School.

She was united in marriage to Clyde Bice and he preceded her in death in 1961.

Mrs. Bice was employed at the Douglas Insurance Agency in Houghton, retiring after 55 years.

Margaret was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton where she was quite active.

Preceding her in death were her husband; two sons; parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Judith (Romeo Bachand of Granbury, Texas; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held at noon Friday, November 6, 2009, at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton with Fr. John Martignon to officiate.

Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.

Friends may call on Friday, November 6, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
