Gezella “Ge” Klobuchar

KEARSARGE - Gezella "Ge" Klobuchar, 97, loving mother, was called to her eternal life on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

She was born October 11, 1912, in Kearsarge, a daughter of the late John and Mary Toth. She attended the Wolverine School.

She was married to Frank Klobuchar in 1935 and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1985.

Ge worked for Tekotzky in Calumet and later, for Novak and Jack Luoma. She also worked at Koffman's Menswear in Hancock and Calumet as the store manager. She later worked at the elders home in Laurium and most recently, at Stillwaters in Calumet as a dedicated caregiver until she retired at age 91, following 73 years of working. She also worked as a private duty caregiver for various people which bcame real friendships. She touched a lot of people's lives and reached out to everyone. For years, the Klobuchar home was welcome to everyone and no one left hungry. When relatives and friends were in need, the Klobuchars were there. She was a very reliable employee and often would put in extra hours and drive her family and friends wherever needed. She drove Percy Ross to the World's Fair in Chicago in 1930. She reached out to all the residents of Cypress Manor whether it was a hug, wave or a smile, she brightened up many hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brothers, John and Steve; sister, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Lori Hepp; and grandson, Bruce Klobuchar.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet and the VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Frank "Frunzo" Klobuchar of Kearsarge; two daughters, Marianne (Tony) Shuty of Negaunee, Pat (Wayne) Hepp of Maumelle, Ark.; many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Holt of Santee, Calif.; special niece, Dorothy Carlton of Eagle Harbor; special nephew, Rev. Ken (Lillian) Toth of Calumet; special childhood friend, Mary Pekar of Allouez; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara officiating.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
