Community EventsHeritage Celebration
The annual Heritage Celebration takes place August 11 to 17 in Calumet. The celebration kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 11 with a C & H Employees Reunion. On Wednesday, Aug. 12 there will be Italian Dance Lessions and on Thursday, Aug. 13 the Red Metal Radio Show will be held at the Calumet Theatre. Miss Coppertown will be crowned at 8 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's activities begin with the Heritage Parade at 10:05 a.m. on Fifth Street in Calumet followed by music, food, vendors, games, horseshoe tournament, horse-drawn tours and more at Agassiz Park on 4th Street. The Great Deer Chase Mountain Bike Race begins at 10 a.m. On Monday, Aug. 17 there will be a Heritage Dance at 7 p.m. at the Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne's.
