Community EventsThe Livin' is Easy
"The Livin' Is Easy", a vocal recital of easy-listening music, will be presented by several local and guest artists on Friday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 1000 W. Quincy Street in Hancock. Marquette pianist Lynne Lanczy will accompany most of the singers assisted by Ole Christiansen. Lanczy's grandson, tenor Jacob Laitinen, also from Marquette, will make his "Livin' is Easy" debut this year. Other singers include the Omega House Barber Shop Quartet, sopranos Megan Plis, Katie Zutter, Ann Campbell, Danielle Teeter, Patricia Helsel, and Ruth Robertson and basses Barry Pegg, Gregory Campbell and Jeffrey Massey. Jazz saxophonist Paul Keranen will also perform. Styles will include gospel, Broadway, opera, Gilbert and Sullivan and jazz.The public is cordially invited to attend this benefit recital of "easy listening" music for a suggested donation of $5 each.
