Community EventsFirst They Killed My Father
On Monday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m., the Rozsa Center on U.S. 41 in Houghton welcomes guest lecturer Loung Ung, a survivor of the killing fields of Cambodia, one of the bloodiest episodes of the 20th century. Ung is an author, lecturer and activist who has dedicated the last 15 years of her life to promoting equality, human rights and justice in her native land and worldwide. Some 2 million Cambodians — out of a poopulation of just 7 million — died at the hands of infamous Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge regime.
