conclave - con-CLAYVE - (in the Catholic Church) the assembly of cardinals for the election of a pope; also, the meeting place for such an assembly; also a secret meeting (as in a smoke-filled back room in politics)
Example: "The caption for a photo of 115 scarlet-clad Cardinals in Time Magazine stated ...'who elected the new Pope, attending Mass at the Vatican before heading to the conclave in the Sistine Chapel.'"
