Word of the Day — March 20, 2013

March 20, 2013 - Scott Viau
Pyrrhic - PEER-ik - a victory won at too great a cost to have been worthwhile for the victor

Example: "Megan McCardle in The Daily Beast gave her argument for bringing tar sands to the US: 'The rising global demand for oil guarantees that the tar sands of Alberta will be tapped even if Keystone is rejected - and stopping it would be a Pyrrhic symbolic victory.'"
